Reductio ad absurdum

I pulled my own post.

It’s not fair to Ms. Boyle to make light of her predicament.  She is duly elected to serve as a board member and has been opposed at every opportunity by the majority members of the board, including participation in challenging her election.  One would hope board members might do a bit of introspection and decide individually for themselves whether they were duly elected to focus on marginalizing a fellow elected board member.  Is that why they ran, to keep selected others from serving?  Is that what voters elected them to do?

My apologies to Ms. Boyle.

You keep saying it’s about the board and not the distractions, yet your writing about the distractions. Take your own advice and keep focused on the board instead of what they’d like everyone to pay attention to instead of them.

    Your point is taken.

I tend to use what’s on-line, what’s in the public record, or what I experience first hand, so I guess I’m susceptible to responding to “the distractions” if you will.

When will everyone wake up and understand Boyle = Drama …but of course EJ just loves this, that’s why they have become BFF’s … “Boyle increases readership”! Who besides a self centered egotist would call the Tribune, so they could be present to record the circus her gang created … IT WAS ALL STAGED. The problem with DG Report and these blogs is they fortunately represent about 1% of the community and the 10-20 regular posters need to find a more productive source of amusement and ridicule.

Let the record of the District 99 Board speak for itself, because it clearly does and they have done a fine job.

If it comes to “burning witches at the stake” I contended there is only one … and within months she has already begun to show her true self.

To 99 Supporter: Indeed, “Let the record of the District 99 Board speak for itself”. Too bad the Board has declined to release the record as an easily-accessible podcast.

For comparison, the Village has the podcast available the SAME evening, or at latest the next morning.

The problem with DG Report and these blogs

You mean “you people” don’t you?

Always someone or something else. The board’s the victim, not the party responsible for their actions.

What forces them to ignore their own adopted rules of order? What outside force makes them ignore the procedure and personal decorum they swore to adhere to when they took office? Who is it that insists they speak out of order, ignore President Beckman’s requests for order, and jump to their feet shouting at residents who attended the meeting? Ms. Boyle?

Of the people that attended the meeting I waited patiently for my chance to speak during the only Public Comment Section near the end of the meeting. I did not get that chance because the board ended the meeting before the first speaker had finished his allotted three minutes. I guess that’s my fault; it I would have not attended the meeting, I would not have been denied the chance to speak. Not the board’s fault for improper conduct and ending of the meeting, my fault for having the audacity to attend.

The only reply I have on the validity of blogs is that our current President was elected in large part by blogs and internet media! The Democrats used the internet to perfection and had bloggers working overtime to get information out. A blog can be used as a powerful tool of persuasion. The bad thing about blogging is that you don’t have to have any facts to back up what you say. Of course sometimes the politicians don’t have their facts right either, so I guess it’s a wash! LOL :)

ahh but Chad when discussing the 99 Board meeting and the “circus” that occurred there – we DO have the facts – EJ was there and Mark T and me and Mr. Boltz and my husband – so what we say is factual… I think MANY more people should attend, but many do not care to… sighhh

    Debbie,

I was speaking about blogs in general, not about the D99 meeting itself.

While we are on the subject…What happened at the meeting will all be hear say because there is no audio or video to prove it. I am not saying that what is being reported by MT and EJ is not factual. What I am saying is there is no evidence to support it besides word of mouth.

Chad, too bad the Board has declined to release the record as an easily-accessible podcast; for comparison, the Village has the podcast available the SAME evening, or at latest the next morning. You will eventually have written minutes with less detail than a recording. And remember that Elaine and Mark do have some of it on tape, that’s first-hand evidence, isn’t it?

  10. Chad 26 July 2009 at 9:41 pm #

    John,

I have an a degree in Criminal Justice, so that side of me would like to see some indisputable evidence. As you well know, I have jumped the gun on issues in the past, only to have things blow up in my face latter. Plus, the written word is NO substitute for spoken words, facial expressions, tone and context. Words can be twisted and taken differently by each person who reads it. No one wins when hear say is the only evidence.

  11. EJ 27 July 2009 at 7:17 am #

    Chad,

Given your strong desire for indisputable evidence, I would suggest you contact your D99 school board members and let them know that you want these meetings broadcast/podcast.

I would further suggest that everyone who shares your interest do the same: Let the board know that you want the meetings taped.

In the meantime, the DGreport will attempt to fill the gap.

I spoke with two board members personally.
