Local food blogger Kristin McCann put me out of my tasteless tomato-induced misery by dropping by a bag of assorted varieties plucked fresh from her garden.
Delicious — especially the sweet yellow tomatoes, which I had never tried before. All of them — yellow, cherry, plum and red tomatoes — went into my favorite summertime dish: diced tomatoes and mozzarella marinated in olive oil, red wine vinegar and garlic just long enough to cook up a pot of whole-wheat pasta. (Makes a great bruschetta topping, too.)

we traded Zucchini’s for them.. and they were good.
That’s cool, Greg. The only garden produce I’ve got in abundance is weeds. Didn’t think to offer those to Kristin.
She’d whip up some crazy tea or crawfish salad with them…
Glad to share, EJ!! Greg zucchinis were great, too! I’ll pass on the weeds – I have enough of my own.
Now if I could just figure out what happened to all of my apples on our tree.
