Part 3 of a continuing series

The Downers Grove Junior Woman’s Club and the employees of the Village of Downers Grove are both working to round up warm clothing for families in need this season.

The DGJWC Cold Weather Drive will benefit clients of the Walk-in Ministry of Hope. The group is seeking new coats, gloves, scarves, hats, long underwear, socks, and other winter items for all ages as well as gently used coats and gloves.  Items will be accepted Mon., Dec. 7 through Fri., Dec. 18 at the Downers Grove Park District Recreation Center, 4500 Belmont Road.

The Juniors also ask that residents please consider making a donation to assist the Walk-in Ministry of Hope in providing warm clothing to those in need this holiday season. For more information call 630-322-9803.

Village employees are also collecting winter coats for the needy at three locations: Village Hall, 801 Burlington Ave., the Downers Grove Police Dept., and the Public Works facility at 5101 Walnut St. The collection continues through Jan. 15, 2010.
