The Goodrick entry
The Goodrick Family of Downers Grove and Aurelio’s Pizza were awarded $100 gift certificates to downtown shops and restaurants as winners of the Downtown Management Corp.’s 2009 Gingerbread House Contest.
They were among 22 entrants in the contest, which was held for the first time this year. Nearly 400 village residents cast ballots for their favorite family and business creations.
“We’re very, very happy with the success,” said Erin Doherty of the Downtown Management Corp. Plans already call for another contest next year, so be sure to stock up on holiday candies when they go on sale after Christmas.
