Cronin, Krajewski win big

State Sen. Dan Cronin and former mayor Brian Krajewski came out on top in their races in DuPage County, each netting nearly 50 percent of the Republican votes cast in Tuesday’s primary.

Cronin will face Democrat Carole A. Cheney in the contest for DuPage County Board chairman, while Krajewski will go up against Karol Sole for the District 3 seat.

In other key races, Republican State Sen. Kirk Dillard lost to Jim Ryan and while Matt Murphy pulled ahead of Jason Plummer for lieutenant governor in DuPage. On the Democratic side, with 100 percent of DuPage precincts reporting, Pat Quinn clipped challenger Dan Hynes with 51 percent of the vote, while Scott Lee Cohen came out ahead in the llieutenant governor’s race, county-wide.
