Mayor Ron Sandack has formally endorsed Matt Murphy for lieutenant governor, according to a press release from the Murphy camp. Sandack was the only mayor among a dozen state senators and representatives to endorse Murphy, who is unofficially running with gubernatorial candidate Andy McKenna. Former mayor Brian Krajewski led the DGreport straw poll for the District 3 county board seat vacated Aug. 31 by Kyle Gilgis. Village commissioner Sean Durkin finished in second place and Westmont environmental consultant Karol Sole placed third.
