More village budget problems

March 8th, 2010 · No Comments · budget

David Vaught, Governor Quinn’s budget director, announced Quinn’s intention of reducing income tax payments to municipalities in Illinois by 30%.
“You need to take a look and say OK, does everybody have skin in the game here?” Vaught said. “It just doesn’t [...]

The Mayor strikes back

November 20th, 2009 · 42 Comments · Village Council, budget

Painting an unfortunate picture.
This is different.  The whole “praise people in public, criticize them in private” meme defined Ron Sandack’s first two years in office.  It led to fast meetings, unanimous votes,  jocularity and little dissenting opinion.
That normal good humor and jocularity got a kick in the teeth Wednesday night courtesy of Sandack himself, via [...]

November 18th, 2009 · 24 Comments · Community Events, Heritage Fest, Taxes, Uncategorized, Village Council, budget

Mayor Sandack doesn’t want a village dentist.
This is going to be a collaborative report, and will be modified.  I took what EJ wrote last night and spliced in my own notes, and she will do the same later.  I encourage everyone to chime in with their own thoughts, as a couple times I was caught [...]
