Village looks to DMMC for capital project funding
Two items that look to be approved this week involve applying for grants for projects through the DuPage Mayors and Managers Conference.
The application to the DuPage Mayors & Managers Conference (DMMC) is for the 2011 Surface Transportation Program (STP) for highway project funding.

The Town Meeting

Tuesday saw the Downers Grove Township annual Town Meeting. This was the first one I had attended. It was not exactly what I was expecting.
Upon walking in the front door of Ashton Place on 75th Street I was greeted by Republican Danny Moustos and Democrat Mark Garrity, each with a handout.

Filing ended Monday, and the County Board of elections has posted an unofficial listing of candidates. Where needed, the ballot order will be decided by a lottery on November 10th. Where two or more candidates from the same party file, there will be a primary run off.

The State Officials and Employee Ethics Act, 5 ILCS 430/1 et seq makes clear no board member or employee may intentionally use any district property or resources in connection with any political activity. The Illinois Council of School Attorneys have specifically vetted that point.
