However many of us feel obligated to now take action to prevent Congressional legislation to overtake our patient's health care. While American health care is the best in the world, there is no doubt that our system needs reform. We can agree that change is needed, but the question is, who will drive this change and what will it look like? The same folks who have bankrupted Medicare and Medicaid? Congress has ignored "Shovel ready" solutions that curb rising costs, increase accessibility to insurance and minimize defensive medicine practices. Please do not wait to speak out after your health care has been irreparably harmed. Do your own research. Ask your health care provider how these laws will impact their practice and your care. Contact your legislators now. Especially Senators Durbin and Burris who plan to rush this plan through in 2-3 weeks.
